How far in advance should I reserve my dates?
We recommend at least 4 months. It takes time to advertise and plan the retreat. If you are planning a retreat for Spring, Summer or Fall, you should make your reservation as soon as possible since this is our busiest time and availability is limited.

How many stay in a room?
It will range 4 – 20, depending on which house you stay in.

How much is the down payment?
The down payment is usually 50% of the cost for the retreat. If your retreat is more than 90 days away, we can work out a payment plan.

Minimum number of people to reserve a house is 12

What can event planners expect from the ranch support team?
We provide turn key services: Lodging, food, recreation, and event facilitation. We have an experienced staff that can customize your retreat to meet all of your needs. We’ll work with you to learn your requirements and help you with all of the arrangements.

What do we need to bring?
A few items that you will need to bring are; bed linens for twin beds, towels and wash cloths, all of your cooking utensils, snacks, ice, cold drinks, lawn chairs, games and insect repellent. Shady Lakes Ranch equips each house with a microwave, coffeepot, hand soap and paper towels. When you make your reservation, a list of suggested items will be given to you so that you may send it to your guests.

What if someone is unable to attend the retreat? Can I get my money back?
We begin preparing for your retreat at least 10 days before your arrival. In order to set up your retreat, staff your retreat and order food, a final head count and the final payment are due 14 days before your event. We are sorry but because of this, we are unable to refund any money due to no shows or last minute cancellations.

What is required to secure a reservation?
Shady Lakes Ranch does require a signed contract, a down payment and a security deposit to secure your event dates for you. Your reservation is not final until we have these items.

What is the arrival and departure times?
Our check in time is 4:00pm and our check out time is 2:00pm. You can reserve extended hours for an additional cost.

What is the difference between a security deposit and a down payment?
Your security deposit is either a separate check ($100.00 per house) or your credit card information on file. You will not be charged on your credit card or your check will not be deposited until after final inspection is made. We will notify you before any charges or deposits are made. If no damages or missing items are found. We will not deposit your check or charge your credit card. A down payment actually holds the house for you and goes towards your final balance.

What is your cancellation policy?
It is very important that you carefully select your retreat dates. Shady Lakes Ranch does not reschedule or refund money for scheduled retreats.

What makes the ranch unique?
We are nestled on 80 acres of lush land with a beautiful 12 acre lake. It’s a place to have exciting and fun adventures as well as quiet down time. We are completely secluded from the busyness of life. We have shady trees, bright stars and all of the sounds of nature.

When are my signed contract, down payment, security deposit, balance and final head count due?
Your signed contract, security information and down payment is due 2 weeks after your contract date. The balance and final head count is due 2 weeks before your scheduled retreat.
